“The Original” North Shore Poke on 5th Street has been doing Hawaiian-style poke since long before it was everywhere: generous bowls, house sauces, no shortcuts.

Get a classic ahi bowl with the house shoyu and do not overthink the toppings; this is poke made by people who were doing it right before there was a trend to follow. Portions are honest, which matters after a morning in the water.

Two blocks from the shop and easy to eat on the walk down to the pier. A regulars' favorite for good reason, and half of them are ours too, timing their bowl around a standing appointment.
