Huntington Beach Pier at sunset, seen from above the surf

Huntington Beach Pier

At 1,850 feet, the Huntington Beach Pier is one of the longest recreational piers on the West Coast, and the postcard view of Surf City. Surfers work the breaks on both sides all day long.

The walk to the end and back takes about twenty minutes at a stroll, and it earns you the best free view in Orange County: surfers below, the coastline curving toward Newport, and, on a clear day, Catalina on the horizon. Go at sunset if you can time it.

It is directly across from Pacific City, so it fits neatly around any appointment with us. Plan your visit with a half hour to spare and see it properly. It also anchors most of our favorite spots in the neighborhood, so start here and wander.
