JoAnn was awesome. My son (7yo) now wants to go to her “for the rest of his life”.

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Thanks Kathy. Hercules can’t wait to hold hand again.

Joanne was super! Had such a memorable experience, from the awesome cut to convos about life and horror films haha! Thanks for the amazing service!

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Thank you Ian. Too bad you’re not a local… hopefully I will see you when you come down.

JoAnn has great energy, she was excited about the whole process and I felt excited too. At first, I was scared because I have longer hair, but she saw the vision I had for my hair and accommodated exceptionally well. 100% recommend, and thank you for showing me Coming To America, I loved the movie haha.

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Soul Glo haha. Thanks Armani

Joann never disappoints her friendly attitude along with her hair cutting skills are second to none! I drive from San Clemente to Huntington Beach because of her listening to me describe the type of cut I require. Two Thumbs Up plus 5 Star Service !

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Thank you Don for supporting me. I think we are on year 4 together. See you soon. -Bertha and Hercules

Joanne cuts both my son’s hair and does a fantastic job :) her attention to detail is amazing, my kids look so sharp every time! Great Location too in Huntington Beach, we love to get ice cream and walk the beach after :)

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Thank you Jasmine for your kind words and visiting me at my old location before opening up the Parlor. Looking forward to seeing you and the boys again.

Although she was nice, I told her not to cut very much off and to keep the waves and curls. She told me to trust her but it looks straight up awful because she cut off sooo much length. Overall really nice, but just kind of does what she wants not what you want.

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Thank you for saying I was nice. That means a lot. And I’m sorry if you were dissatisfied with the length. Your sides were clipped pretty short when you came in, with a lot left on top, and connecting the two meant taking off more than the either of us wanted. I know you asked if I was taking too much off. I thought I explained it well enough at the time. It was never my intention to do my own thing instead of what you asked for. And I’m sorry if it came across that way. I apologize that it wasn’t what you wanted. in 6-8 weeks if you want to come back, I will comp you for free. And try to make it right. Joann owner of Timberlodge Parlor

Joanne the barber did a terrible job cutting my son’s hair. She often asked personal questions instead of focusing on cutting my son’s hair. Also, she would get nervous and weirdly would ask me to stop watching her while she was cutting his hair when I was just looking at him. I would not recommend this place to a friend.

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Thank you for the feedback, and I'm sorry the visit didn't feel right to you. To share my perspective: I chat with every client in my chair — especially teens — about their hobbies, sports, and daily routine, because it helps me tailor a cut and style that actually fits their lifestyle, and I want them to have a voice in their own haircut. That's also why I checked in with him in the mirror several times throughout the cut, and he told me he liked how it was coming along. I did ask that you please have a seat during the cut . I don’t recall asking you to not watch. — you were standing very close behind me, and when I'm working with very sharp shears near a child's ears and neck, I need space to work safely and give him my full attention. I apologize if you feel shut out. That was not my intention. I also want to note we spent an hour and twenty minutes on a forty-five-minute booking to get it right, and I was glad to hear at checkout that everyone was happy with the result. If that changed after you left, I wish you'd reached out — I'd have gladly offered a complimentary redo within a couple of days, and that offer still stands. — Joann, Timberlodge Parlor

After trying a number of barber shops around Huntington Beach, I can honestly say Timberlodge Parlor is the best barber shop in the area. JoAnn, the owner, has over a decade of experience, and it shows in every haircut. She takes the time to understand exactly what you’re looking for, pays incredible attention to detail, and never makes you feel rushed. Whether you’re getting a clean skin fade, a classic cut, beard work, or just a fresh cleanup, you can tell she takes real pride in her craft. One of the things I love most is that Timberlodge isn’t a typical busy barbershop. It’s a private suite inside Pacific City, just steps from the beach, so you get a one-on-one experience in a relaxed, comfortable setting. The atmosphere is clean, welcoming, and unique, making every appointment feel personal rather than just another haircut. JoAnn genuinely cares about her clients and it shows in both her work and the relationships she’s built. It’s easy to see why she has such a loyal following and why so many people recommend her through word of mouth. If you’re looking for precision, professionalism, and someone who truly cares about delivering an exceptional haircut every single time, I highly recommend JoAnn at Timberlodge Parlor. Huntington Beach is lucky to have a barber of her caliber. Five stars without hesitation.

I was impressed by the quality of joAnn’s scissor cut. She definitely knows how to work Asian male hair. And, the drinks and snacks were a pleasant surprise.

Thank you for trusting me with your hair.

Great hospitality, clean parlor, Joann did a nice job cutting my man's hair, sending him home looking more handsome than he did leaving for his appointment.

Thank you Amanda. Looking forward to seeing you and your man back at the Parlor.

Excellent haircut. Joann is a total professional and the Timberlodge Parlor is A++. Great location, easy to find, and the studio is emasculate. I highly recommend the Timberlodge Parlor.

Response from the owner May 2026

Thank you Steven for recommending me and supporting us. Looking forward to seeing you again.

JoAnn’s cut is highest rated! My son is growing out his hair…she listened to how he would like it done, and perfectly executed the style and function he was looking for. She takes her time and is very skilled! It’s hard to find a stylist who actually cuts with scissors these days. Once again, perfectly executed! Also, and extremely important, my son has multiple anaphylactic food allergies and some chemical sensitivities. Joann understood this completely, and worked with us to allow for the safest environment. He felt fully relaxed in her environment and chair. We will be back with the whole family. Thank you so much JoAnn!!

Response from the owner May 2026

Thank you for your kind words. I myself suffer from MCS and heavy fragrances and pride myself on trying to elite chemicals from my life. I look forward to seeing you two again.

Excellent haircut, great experience. "Joann did a great job- the scariest thing a man can say to his girlfriend is, 'I'm getting a haircut,' and she did a great job." - my girlfriend

Response from the owner May 2026

Dylan, It was a pleasure chatting with you and I’m so glad you trust me enough to do your hair again. I am glad your girlfriend was happy. Looking forward to seeing you again. -joAnn

Went in wanting a higher quality haircut than I usually get but not sure exactly what I wanted to do with my messy semi-long hair. She worked her magic and got me looking great.

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Ryan, Thank you for visiting Timberlodge Parlor. Hercules and I look forward to seeing you again. -joAnn

JoAnn Vu at The Timberlodge Parlor is the best! Very nice and accommodating. She’ll work with your hair type and give you great styling tips. Her studio is one room that is clean and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much!

Response from the owner Nov 2025

Giovi, Thank you for giving us a try here. I hope you can replicate the styling tips at home. Look forward to seeing you again! -joAnn

JoAnn cut my hair and waxed my eyebrows a couple days ago. I couldn’t recommend her services more. She truly listens and knows what she is talking about and doing. She took into consideration my head shaped when cutting my hair which almost nobody I’ve been to does. She also understood exactly what I wanted with my eye brows - I like mine to still look natural but clean. I’ve had haircuts all around the country and world with many trial and errors. JoAnn and Timberlodge was spot on. I would highly recommend setting up an appointment to see JoAnn. I can guarantee she’ll make you look great.

Response from the owner Nov 2025

Matt, Thank you for coming in. So glad to have you in. I look forward to working on your brows and hair again. -joAnn

JoAnn styled my hair and lined my beard up for my wedding and was really helpful and flexible!

highly recommend Joanne. She is incredibly detail-oriented. She always takes the time to truly understand what I want before she starts, and the final cut is consistently excellent.

Response from the owner Nov 2025

Thank you JT for trusting me with your hair. I was hoping you ended up with an easy to maintain style and it looks like you did.

Got an absolute 10/10 haircut! joAnn, she is so chill and asked me what kinda haircut I was looking for and gave me exactly what I wanted! Also she explained the process of my hair in detail before starting the cut so It really made her trustworthy, and made me more excited about how that’d play out! Appreciate your service!

Response from the owner Nov 2025

Thank you for the 10 out of 10! Glad to have earned your trust and looking forward to seeing you again!

The moment you walk in Joann makes you feel welcomed. She does a good job of listening to you and offering suggestions. My haircut came out great with all the little details. I also come in to get my hair colored. It always comes out looking great. I have been coming here for a couple of years and I will keep coming back.

Response from the owner Aug 2026

Thank you Martin for coming in for the last couple years. Always a pleasure to have you come in and play with your hair!

Joann's got an eye for detail and that definitely shows in her detailed haircuts. I was looking for a pixie cut and glad I came across her. Been getting haircuts from her for more than 2 years. She does color too!

Thanks Jen. You rock and so happy when you come in

I've been going to JoAnn for 4 years now and I've always gotten exactly the cut I wanted. Both long and short haired styles. Cleanest skin fade you'll ever get. Also she's hilarious, always a good time getting a cut and a shave.

I had an amazing experience at timberlodge! Joann listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered exactly that—my haircut looks fresh, stylish, and easy to maintain. The salon has a great atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back!
