Although she was nice, I told her not to cut very much off and to keep the waves and curls. She told me to trust her but it looks straight up awful because she cut off sooo much length. Overall really nice, but just kind of does what she wants not what you want.

Your sides were clipped pretty short when you came in, with a lot left on top, and connecting the two meant taking off more than the either of us wanted. Joanne the barber did a terrible job cutting my son’s hair. She often asked personal questions instead of focusing on cutting my son’s hair. Also, she would get nervous and weirdly would ask me to stop watching her while she was cutting his hair when I was just looking at him. I would not recommend this place to a friend.

To share my perspective: I chat with every client in my chair — especially teens — about their hobbies, sports, and daily routine, because it helps me tailor a cut and style that actually fits their lifestyle, and I want them to have a voice in their own haircut. That's also why I checked in with him in the mirror several times throughout the cut, and he told me he liked how it was coming along. I did ask that you please have a seat during the cut . I don’t recall asking you to not watch. — you were standing very close behind me, and when I'm working with very sharp shears near a child's ears and neck, I need space to work safely and give him my full attention. I apologize if you feel shut out. That was not my intention. I also want to note we spent an hour and twenty minutes on a forty-five-minute booking to get it right, and I was glad to hear at checkout that everyone was happy with the result. JoAnn’s cut is highest rated! My son is growing out his hair…she listened to how he would like it done, and perfectly executed the style and function he was looking for. She takes her time and is very skilled! It’s hard to find a stylist who actually cuts with scissors these days. Once again, perfectly executed! Also, and extremely important, my son has multiple anaphylactic food allergies and some chemical sensitivities. JoAnn cut my hair and waxed my eyebrows a couple days ago. I couldn’t recommend her services more. She truly listens and knows what she is talking about and doing. She took into consideration my head shaped when cutting my hair which almost nobody I’ve been to does. She also understood exactly what I wanted with my eye brows - I like mine to still look natural but clean. I’ve had haircuts all around the country and world with many trial and errors. Nestled within Pacific City is this hidden gem inside of Salon Republic adorned with references to The Shining. Joann is amazing at cutting hair, especially Asian men's hair. Joann is the hair stylist I've been looking for! She always knows how to do what we are wanting! My daughter and I have long curly hair and she knows how to take care of it, which is not easy to find, and my other daughter has thick, short hair and Joann cuts it perfectly! My girls never look better than after they see Joann. Plus she is extremely consciousness about her products.
